♪4 | video/action for Goldenrod City

[A video post opens. The camera is a little shaky at first, but settles down after a while. It's obvious that a Pokémon is recording this since the owner of the gear can be seen, standing further away from the gear with a saxophone on hand. This, however, isn't an accidental post as you can figure once Ren starts talking.]

I made a promise once that I would let someone listen to my music. It took me a while, but I'm ready to play now. [Hey, it's better than having to listen to the background music all the time, right?] This is what I've been able to come up with during the time I've been here.

[Enough talking for now. He'll start playing his saxophone to this song. Obviously he can't play it while he sings, but you get the idea of the rhythm every time he does play.

While he's singing, he seems to be really enjoying what he's doing. This is his passion for music, ladies and gentleman.

After the songs ends, he takes a moment to talk to his audience.]

Thank you for listening. [He smiles.] This also won't be the last time you'll be hearing me perform. I'm an idol, after all.

[With that, he'll give a small signal and the feed cuts here.]

Indeed. It took me a while to get my hands on one, but it was worth it, I'd say.

Ah, definitely worth it. [and this singer gets curious, because someone's been there - recently? - so, he probably knows~] Were there a lot of other instruments and other things to make music?

Ah, yes. There was a whole department dedicated for musical instruments and the like. I think you could find almost anything you desire in that place.

Ahh, I think I remember that department - maybe. I went there long time ago. But almost anything sounds promising when a girl's looking for music makers, or something like that, to make background musics for her own songs.

[Oh, another singer? There seems to be a lot around.]

So you're a singer as well. I'd love to her you perform sometime.

[She giggles.]

Indeed, I am. I plan to make a full playlist at some point, thought it will be a cappella for a long time. Until I learn to use those music makers, or if someone wants to play a piano or something on them. [See how her plans are still kind of undone?] But I'll ask around about the whole thing later, and a cappella is fine too.

[But when you talk to this girl about hearing her songs... There are consequences.] Ahh, but I could sing something for you anytime if you'd like that.

Unfortunately the only instrument I play is the saxophone. If only the people I usually hang around would be here. I'd introduce you to them.

[Not that he admits it, but he kinda misses Hijirikawa now.]

Well, I wouldn't mind hearing something now, if you have something on mind?

Just means I have to ask around and see if I can find people who play something. [No problem with her social skills.] ...Though I guess they'd have to know what to play too. [Does she have musical notations of her songs with her! Nope. But she'll figure it out, she could always do something new too.

Chance to sing? She'll take it, and she doesn't even waste any time for other questions. She just seems thoughtful for a short moment, smiles after it and gets set, ready, go - enjoy Etoranze!]

I hope you find what you're looking for. Though, if my friends do arrive here, I'll make sure to give them a word.

[He quiets down to listen to what the girl has to say. Well, more like what she has to sing, it seems. Ren smiles as he listens.

She really puts her heart into the song, doesn't she? Even without music, you can clearly hear a wonderful meaning behind it.]

Thank you. If I can't find what I'm looking for, then I'll jump into another plan and make it work. [She makes it sound so simple with her cheerful tone, ffff.] Ahh, I'd really like that, thank you for that too.

[and yes, there's that singing, hopefully you won't get bored.

She'll bow at the end with a smile on her face.]

[He won't get bored with a performance like this. He'll happily listen to the whole song with a small smile on his face.]

Thank you very much. [She takes the compliment too, really and she hears it a lot, but...] I'm just a girl who dedicated her whole life to singing.

[Ichi could have learned a thing or two from this girls when he had problems with his singing.]

Ahh, that thing with including them into songs... I got a great lesson about it from my producer years ago.

Did you have problems with translating your feelings before? It's hard to believe.

[Have a sad smile, Mister. Right, it's hard to believe from the current full moon. That's what people always say. No, it was hard to believe from that little girl too.]

I did, but it's a very sad and kind of long story.

[Ah... sad stories. It seems a lot of idols suffer from them.]

I won't force you to tell it. I'm glad you got over it, though... it would have been a shame if a flower like you wouldn't have bloomed.

Flower? [Shakes head.] Full moon, that's where my name comes from too.

[...Well, you asked for it.]

I ...My parents died on the day I was born because they were rushing to the hospital, so mom could give birth to me... I cried about it a lot later, but at that time my life was full of people who'd rather have them than me alive, so... Crying was a bad idea, showing my feelings was a bad idea.

But then I moved into an other orphanage and I met a boy, who became like a brother to me. Then, suddenly, he had to move to America - and we were in Japan, by the way... Before he left, he ... confessed his love to me, but I couldn't answer, because I was too confused and happy for it.

Well, Eichi never made it to America. The plane crashed to the ocean on the way, no survivors. Ehh, I wasn't really supposed to see it in the news - but I did, yet no one knew that I had seen it.

So, then I remembered what he always said to me.

The moon always shows only one side of itself to us and hides its scars to the other side.

And so I did! Because those aunts in the first orphanage had always blamed me for the dead of my parents. Because I blamed myself for all three deaths and didn't want more blame from others and because I didn't want to believe it.

So I kept smiling [she'll make a face; like this ^___________________________________^] instead of crying or showing any signs of knowing that it happened. Instead I kept saying that I want to sing to him, to possibly go to meet him and all that stuff.

Then I met new friends, who found out about it and I started opening up a bit...

Ah, but it all lead to my producer questioning about my songs, whether they're really the word that I want to get out of my heart. And he's a really, really nice doctor / producer person, so hearing that he'll quit if I don't sing with my whole heart was a surprise... Then again, not so much because I knew what the problem was...

Ah, and then it took some time to get it out, but in the end I really found the full moon...

That sounded weird. And the story ended up much, much longer than I expected ...

[OOOOOOOOOOOPS!!]

[Ren has been here all the time, listening to the story. It sounds really heartbreaking and something that really shouldn't be a story for a girl like this... but at least she's fine now.]

Yes. Sounds like you've had a rough life, even for someone so young... but you've gotten through it and now shine like the moon in the sky... and I'm sure you'll go far with your singing career.

Mmm, and then there was even more people disappearing, and drama and surviving from cancer ... [she forgot to mention that?] ... which I had at the time when I started my career at the age of 12, but there's magic in our world, so I was able to sing anyways.

[Flailing her hands.]

Ahh, but I'm competely fine now. Cheerful as ever, here in Johto again, and my music career just kicked into its new beginning at home.

Hmmm, maybe just half bad, since I did have a concert before I woke up in mom's house. And I've been here before, so ah, coming back is a fun experience.

Ah, then it's the same for us both. [He nods.] Our band had our first concert just before I arrived here.

I guess that answers your question. Though it's a boyband with six guys, rather than just me singing.

Ah, well at least we both had our concerts. Coming here from right before the concert would have been ... a little sad maybe?

Definitely. Especially after all the trouble we went through with the band.

[Still, not as much trouble as this girl had.]

Mostly lyrics. I do know the basics of song making, but our band has a composer who put us together.
